About Me

I was born in a small Cotswolds village in 1820, where, as a child, I immersed myself in life outdoors and fell in love with the countryside. My creative pursuits began upon discovering an old pocket watch, hidden in an old suitcase in the dusty attic of my family home. According to my grandfather, the watch had the power to transport its wearer through time. Skeptical but curious, I put it on and found myself in a bustling medieval market. Captivated, I documented my experiences in an old sketchbook and gradually gained control over the watch’s powers. This was the beginning of my adventures through time.

Each of my paintings tells a story from different eras.

  • Neolithic Echoes captures the raw energy of standing stones and ancient rituals using bold, geometric forms and earthy tones.
  • Victorian Whispers explores dreamlike gaslit streets and grand estates in rich, moody hues, which hint at secrets long buried in Victorian England.
  • Futuristic Glimpses depicts a shattered 2065, ruled by technofeudalism, where a few corporations rule the digital realm and the energy demands of data centers and megacities have changed the face of the planet.

Seeing both the potential and dangers of the digital age, I travelled to 1990 to influence the early days of the World Wide Web. I learned to code and contributed to foundational open web protocols like HTTP and RSS. While continuing my art, I now advocate for open web standards, the IndieWeb movement, and independent blogging. My mission is to keep the web a place of freedom, creativity, and user control—a vision I fight for every day.
